Depart Sydney, Import Los Angeles !

Exactly a year ago, I went to America with my family to visit the rest of my family that lives in the United States :). At that time, I didn’t have a blog, so I was just thinking, might as well write a blog about my trip, before I forget everything. Because the holidays are near, I have more time to write stuff now.

My flight was booked on the 29th of March, 2011. All my luggage and stuff was packed. Before I left, I had to pay my school fees. So, I had to walk to school in casual clothes and paid my fees at the office. We said goodbye to my grandparents :’( then we boarded a shuttle bus that took us to Sydney Airport at 11pm. On the way, we met these two ladies that were going overseas.

We checked in our luggage and shopped at the airport. We just bought some scarves, books or mugs or any Aboriginal-designed stuff, for my American families. I was also looking for good-looking guys, ;D

Went through security and they took away my school scissors because it’s dangerous. :/ Then we boarded the plane around 3pm. Before boarding the plane, I said “That’s a good-looking plane”. Then this man laughed at me. What ?

 14 HOURS ON A PLANE.

My seat had a window view on the left side of the plane. Great for pictures :).  There were food menus and travel guide books available in the chair, infront, including headphones for the radio. Nothing interesting on the radio.

As the plane left Sydney, I texted my friend and the pilot was mentioning safety belts, travel guides etc. I realised there was a world map and there was a dotted line that indicated the path where the plane would travel, from Sydney to Los Angeles. There was a large dot that showed where the plane was.

About 10mins after the plane left, I started some of my school homework. The flight attendants gave us small drinks and pretzels, as a snack.

go away, clouds

Mostly clouds outside my window and I started to get sleepy. There was a blanket and pillow for sleeping. Sleeping was so uncomfortable because there was only about 40-50cm leg room.

I did’nt even know what time it was but the sky outside was so pretty ! We passed the international date line in the sky, and I was starting to fall asleep. The plane completed ¼ of it’s journey to America.

Dinner was served and it was delicious =D . Aeroplane food was pretty good, I wonder if there was Aeroplane Jelly =D. There were movies scheduled at certain times but I just listened to some music on the plane.

My skin was so dry on the plane, because the air is recycled, so I had to apply cream on when the flight attendant wasn't looking. If they saw me, they probably wouldn't give me the good food cause I'd look like some diseased person.

We were given bread rolls with either cheese or ham for lunch which was okay. Then for dinner, we had pasta, bread, salad and fudge cake

 Dinnerrrrrrrrr. =D

 Awesome fudgecake

When I woke up, the plane passed the equator and I was like ‘WOOHOO! Haha, all my friends are in the Southern Hemisphere’. Slept for some more and we were so close to LOS ANGELES. =D :) :] >D

Before we arrived in LA, we were given breakfast and I think we arrived at 7-something am. The date was 28th of March, 2011

We had to go to LA Airport Security and the queue was sooo long. Good thing I ran there and got a spot. It took us literally 4 hours. Why so many questions. I guarantee you America, I will not add anything to your list of crimes.

We received all our luggage and we waited outside the airport, for a taxi. There was a black lady that worked there, and she had a nice convo with me. Great service, America ! A shuttle bus arrived, and we went to The Red Lion Hotel in Anaheim. On the way, we met an American couple that had a baby. I think they were in college but resided, in Florida =D.

It took sooo long to get to the hotel, cause we were all sleepy, so time seemed slower. Driving through Anaheim, I noticed there were a lot of Palm Trees, the roads were wider and the hotels were great ! We arrived at the Hotel, but we could only check in after 3pm. A concierge called Ceaser came and put our luggage away til 3pm. Haha, I miss him. He was so nice and friendly :)

My family went to get Disney Land Tickets :). My family got the 3-day-Disneyland offer along with a trip to Universal Studios and Sea World. :D Then we went to go eat Subway.
To be honest, having the feeling of being in LA was awesome cause it’s the city where all the entertainment happens. It’s one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations. =D

Subway sandwiches were nice :). The drinks were huge ! I think it was a medium sized cup, and you can refill too.

After lunch, we walked around Anaheim to look at the hotels. We waited for a while in the lobby until we could check in. Ceaser came to us with our luggage and we had a key to our hotel room ! We were on level 7, Room 11. I wish we had a higher view, just so we could take better pictures.

The room was pretty big but about 70% of the space was taken up by furniture. I had a Queen-sized bed all to myself ! Yeaaaa ! =D

Even though we didn’t have the most luxurious room, I was still pretty happy to be in LA. We all unpacked our stuff and lied on the bed. They were big !

My aunty from San Diego called the hotel and left my mum a message when she was showering. They have really good shampoo. The rest of my family just talked about our itinerary for the rest of trip.

A few hours later, after everyone had a nap. Mum and dad went out to LA around 5pm, to buy some groceries but I stayed in the hotel with the key cause I wanted to take pictures of the room. They came back an hour later, because they got lost. HAHAHHA ! They came back with some bread, milk, butter, eggs and chips.

For dinner, we went to a place that specialises in making nice rubs. i just wanted lasagne.. The ribs were huge !

After that, we went to sleep and I was so excited for the next day !
