After we finished our Disney Land Adventure !, our feet were so grateful for no more intense walking. It was so sad leaving DisneyLand :(
UNIVERSAL STUDIOS
USA: 2/3/11 SYDNEY: 3/4/11
This day was probably my 4th day being in America, and I actually survived without the internet, because I was being entertained all the time. Before going, I met up with 2 of my cousins, from my American family at breakfast. For breakfast, I had bacon, eggs and potato :) . We just talked for a while.
I realised that American bacon strips had so much fat. It's a strip of meat, surrounded by two large fat pieces. The bacon I eat, has meat and one side of fat.
le American breakfast :)
2 of my cousins came with us, to Universal Studios. We went on a freeway, I think :). It took around 45mins to get there. I saw some big billboard signs.
When we arrived there we used our California City pass, to enter.
Universal Studios Sign !
When we entered, we saw a person dressed up at the bunny from the movie “HOP”. And the bunny was so cute, I just wanted to take him home. >D
HOP BUNNY !!!
We walked further, and we saw the signature ‘Universal Studios’ sculpture ball, that rotated.
Universal Studios' signature icon !
Universal Studios has many rides, shows and perfomances.
The first performance we saw was called ‘WATERWORLD’. It was an amazing show. :O I could have taken pictures but some people got wet, so I didn’t want to take the risk of ruin my camera.
Waterworld Entrance!
When we sat down, this bodybuilder-looking man, grabbed a bucket of water and threw it to the audience and I was just like “the hell?”. The performance was incredible, a bit scary too. It was basically about fighting and war. The actors had guns, jumped into the water, they jetskied and it was incredible. It was like watching a movie without cutscenes. Even the props looked realistic.
The ending was crazy, there was a helicopter that flew onto the stage area and caught on fire in the water.
After the WATERWORLD event, we walked around some souvenir shops to buy some gifts. I saw these funny-looking Spongebob charms. My cousins and I made a squishy spongebob, but we didn't buy it :(
Squishy Spongebob !
Tthere were so many other toys but they were too expensive :)
le awesome Spongebob pillow !
Keychain for a friend, and the bracelet I made.
After touring around the souvenir shops, my family and cousins decided to go on the Simpsons ride. During the ride, it was terrifying yet fun ! I thought it was a rollercoaster but it was a seat that rotates and moves up and down. The screen was in a dome-like shape so it looked realistic. Mum and dad were so terrified they hated it, while my cousins and I were like "WOOOO!" in the back seat. The ride was 20-30 mins.
When our ride stopped, Krusty the Clown, snapped a picture of us. The picture was displayed outside near the counter and I literally laughed my head off when I saw the picture. I took a picture of the picture of us on the ride and mum's face looked like she gave someone a dirty look cause she was so terrified. HAHAHA
After the ride, my family saw people dressing up as the Simpson's characters. Some parts of universal Studios has Simpsons-themed backgrounds.
Dressed up Simpsons characters !
We went to a place where they show arcade games. I'm not sure what they' re called, but they showed games like "throw this ball in the hoop 5 times, and win this large toy" Kinda thing. We didnt play but we saw this loooong monkey in a baseball outfit !
Monkey George !
I never realised how HUGEEEEEE Universal Studios was, but it had stairs and an escalator that was like 30metres looong. When we took the escalator, it had a huge view of plains of grass area and trees. We were planning to get some lunch.. I think :) It was pretty cold that day =D
Plains of grass and trees :)
I cant remember when we had lunch, but we had a buffet I think. When we queued up for the buffet, it had salad, pizza and pies and other foods. I think I had a slice of pizza and salad and some chips. My cousins bought a churro and I've never seen it before since that day. O_O
I saw some bakers make it, and it's basically a loooong piece of dough that is covered in sugar. I'm pretty sure it's available in Australia but I've never seen it. It just taste like sugar. I couldn't finish it ! :O Then I went to the toilets to clean up. I loved how everywhere we go, my mum would carry my school bag for emergency or backup.
After lunch, we went to go and see the Special Effects. Basically, the behind the scenes on how movies are made and the illusions that are put on camera. It was very entertaining, because the directors actually used humour and actually used props, rather than having a Microsoft Powerpoint Presentation.
After watching the Special Effects, my cousins and I went on a water ride ! And I forget what the ride was called, but it was so fun !
the queue for lining up for the water ride !
After that we had some ice-cream :)
Icecream sign :)
While eating ice-cream I snapped this awesome photo !
This area reminded me a lot of the European/French styled restaurant/cafe shops :)
I can't remember what time we left Universal Studios, but my cousin probably drove us back to the hotel around 4pm because my family was planning to have dinner with the rest of my American family.
Around 6pm, my cousins that took us to Universal Studios, drove us to a Chinese restaurant. I met Aunty L & Uncle L with Kira, the double A's, AA's aunty and his son =D. We ate, pork, rice, crab and other chinese dishes. It was soooo goood ! I also talked to Jason, and he was a really nice guy. He looked so fobby though :)
Wall paper of the Chinese restaurant ! So pretty !
Jason and I talked about Australia, school and how life was different. Apparently he thought Australia has a lot of sheep. HAHAHA, yes, thats true. Australia has a large farming/agricultural business but New Zealand has a lot of sheep too :D. Apparently, mum was surprised to see me talking to a guy because it's the first time, she actually saw me having a conversation with a guy.
After having an awesome chinese dinner, my whole family went to a bubble tea shops that sold different flavours of bubble tea. I think I had a mango flavour. I saw this gumball machine looking thing that had Hello Kitty coin boxes, so I put 4 quarters ($1) in there to get a Hello Kitty coin box for a friend, as a souvenir. :)
After that, my cousin had to drive to the petrol station, to fill up petrol and I just wanted to experience the feeling of being in an American car :)... sitting in the front seat, LIKE A BOSS. Just kidding, I wasn't the driver.
After that, she drove my family to the hotel. It was nice meeting new people from different parts of my family. :) It was sad to know that it was my last night sleeping in LA.. :(. but I had a great experience though. =]
