Monday

things I hate ; Being Weird

I am a weird person. I act a little strange sometimes. Society tells me "Its okay to be weird", "Be weird, you're different", or something positive. It's a good thing to be weird because you're more free and spontaneous.  Even my friends say that.

When I act actually do act weird, people say to me "You're weird" or they give me a weird stare.

what?

What is classified as weird then ?

From my point of view, weird is just something uncanny and something that is not common.

I am just so confused and I hate it when people say that. I only get a tiny bit offended because I get 'weird' stares quite often.

When someone says to me "You're weird", I don't know if that's a compliment of an insult. Either way, you should just be happy about yourself.

I accept the fact that I am weird and I'm proud of it. It's quite hard to accept the fact that I'm weird, because there are hypocrites in the world.

I have also noticed this:
Good-looking person + weird = It's okay
Average-looking person + weird = err... weird

When someone acts uncanny or unusual, people say "She's weird".
Then the person gets upset, then someone will say "You should be wierd, you're unique"...

Then someone acts uncanny or unusual, people say "She's weird".

Then the person get upset, What an interestingg cycle.

I've used 'when people say...'. These 'people' are just everyone, including myself, friends and society.

I also try to avoid the word 'weird' because some people can find it offensive, so I replace it with 'unusual'.

I'm honestly happy with the way I am, :). Being weird is better, because you are yourself and you shouldn't care about what others think. I'm not going by the motto 'YOLO'.

The less you care, the more happier you will be.

Last Day of April, the 30th

Friday

TAURUS ZONE

Star sign Taurus is from
 21st of April - 21st of May

Last year, I heard that there was a new star sign called Ophiuchus because the rotation of the Earth and position of the stars in space have changed. That's just nature.

I don't believe that Ophiuchus should be considered a star sign.

Water, Earth, Fire, Air are the 4 elements until the Fire Nation attacked.<-- haha, Avatar copyright =D

There are 12 signs and 3 of the signs belong to either an Air, Earth, Fire or Water element. Which element does Ophiuchus belong to ? I also think it's unlucky because it's the 13th number :S.

It doesn't "master all elements" like Aang in the Avatar Las Airbender anime.

Most people have their star signs changed because of Ophiuchus. I'm not changing the title of this blog entry to "ARIES ZONE :)"

Honestly, I don't believe in star signs but I am proud to be a Taurus :).

My birthday is coming up so yea.

And Happy Birthday to all Taureans ! and other star signs =)

25/4/12

Sunday

Arriving in San Francisco !

San Francisco was so cold ! It was so foggy. We took a taxi to the Westin Hotel

The rooms were quite plain but it was quite comfy. :) It actually reminded me of the Red Lion Hotel when we were in LA. I noticed SFO was an interesting city, differently to Las Vegas.

Our Hotel room:

Beds and Resting Area !

Paintings and Bed

I actually really liked  this hotel cause they had food next to the TV, but we'd have to pay for it if we had eaten it.

After we arrived in our hotel. We just rested up for a while and then we checked out of the hotel to explore San Francisco ! :) I thought the lobby looked pretty good cause it had a good view of a the California Pizza Restaurant. It wasn't foggy that day, but it was cold. :S

Saturday

Farewell, Las Vegas :')

I was so impressed by everything in the US. Not saying that Sydney is lousy, but the entertainment isn't as big and huge in Australia.

I took a picture of the airport at Las Vegas. When we were waiting for our plane,  I saw a lot of casinos and I saw a small food section in the waiting area.

 Casinos in LV Airport !

We took a shuttle bus to the airport and I clearly remember this:. When we went through security, dad had some razors for shaving. And obviously, security had to check dad's lugagge.

The lady that searched through the luggage and she yelled out "Who's bag is this?". I knew it was dad's but I was too nervous to say anything. I finally said "Oh, that's mine". The lady was so crossed (haha, crossed :b) that she rolled her eyes and looked through. She was like on pms or something, or just doing her job. Dad came, and the lady just saw the razors. She said something to me and I mumbled, only because I was so scared. The lady turned to my dad and said "Can she speak English?". THEN I HAD THE FACE OF DISGUST. What if I was white ? I was so nervous because we kept some pictures of naked girls to show to the rest of the family. We passed through security and flew to San Francisco ! We got seats on the left side again :)

5th Day in Vegas & The Fashion Show !

5th Day in Vegas
&
The Fashion Show !
USA: 15/4 SYDNEY: 16/4
Our last day in Vegas. :(. We’ve been to 2 performances and 1 bus tour. Good enough, couldn’t ask for more. Really, if we went to more shows, we would have no more money.

We left our hotel and had some breakfast. :)

 Lobby Area !

 Look at the Chandelier !

We went to a restaurant that looked Italian. I had some hot chocolate and spaghetti :P.

 le Hot Chocolate :)

After brunch, walked into a casino area and there was a magic store. There was a guy that used props to do magic tricks. We went into the store and I saw a fake lump of poo. HAHAHAH ! I love you Vegas.

Outside the Venetian Hotel

The Mirage's Fountain

After brunch, we walked around Las Vegas and we saw a hobo making a flowers out of bamboo-looking strips of barks. He bent it over and over, and he turned it into a flower. It was origami and mum bought it for me because I was feeling a bit sad that day. :)

We walked into a huge shopping mall where there was a large catwalk. Our family watched the models walk one by one. I didn't really like the dresses because they all looked mediocre. Some models walked on the catwalk three times.

Models. Most of the pictures my mum took, made them look like idiots. :L

After the catwalk show, we walked around the shops just to see if there was anything good. I went into an Apple Store because I had been living for 2 weeks without internet. Wow, I rely on technology too much.

We walked around some more. Then we had to head home to pack our lugagge. We had to say goodbye to our little hotel room. :(

I would love to stay in Vegas again for a week, just for the photography. :O

4th Day in Vegas & The Human Nature Concert ! :)

4th Day in Vegas
&
The Human Nature Concert !
USA: 14/4 SYDNEY: 15/4
Nearing the end of the trip of Las Vegas :(. The Strip involves so much walking, if you want to see everything. The 4th day of Vegas was more about seeing all the hotels and what Vegas has to offer, rather than seeing shows.

We woke up pretty earl around 7am. I hated that I wake up so early in the holidays, but I wake up so late at home. Why ??!

Mum filled her large purse with needs and emergency stuff. We left the hotel and yea.

We went out to a restaurant for breaky. Can’t remember what we ate.

I wanted to go on a roller coaster ride from the New York New York Hotel. Since we had already been to Disneyland, mum was like "Don't go on it, it's not as good at Disneyland'. We went inside the hotel, and I lined up. It was so expensive ($14). I went on by myself.

New York New York Hotel Sign
After the ride, I was so disappointed because it wasn't even worth $14. It went so slow and wasn't scary compared to the rides in Disneyland.

Part of the rollercoaster at the NY NY Hotel :)

After the ride, I saw my mum looking around a shop in the New York New York Hotel. It was filled with Spongebob stuff and toys. I also had to go to the toilet and the sign said “Dolls” instead of “Girls” for the toilets.

 "Dolls"

The toilets were actually in a large arcade game area, I guess it’s a good way to make you spend money. There were also Bart Simpson toys. If I can’t win in arcades games for a toy, I’ll just give people the money so I can buy the toys :(

Arcade Game Area in NY NY !

We walked around the gift shops at the New York New York Hotel and the key chains were so cool ! They had poker chips and dice with fake diamonds. I was pretty happy with the prices ($12 for 4 key chains). We ended up buying 3 poker chips and a few other things.

After New York New York hotel, we saw the Excalibur Hotel. The hotel looked amazing at night but I don’t want to post picture of it. We didn’t go inside the hotel, but the hotel was shaped like a palace. It looked like a magical fantasy at night. :O

 The Excalibur Hotel !

Walking along the streets of the Strip, there was a guy that offered tickets to see Criss Angel’s magician show. Mum always says to me “Never talk to strangers” but the guy to us to the manager of Criss Angel’s Mindfreak Show. He said we would get discounted because the show was in a few days. We turned down the offer :(.

I also saw some "Thunder from Down Under" Posters. :O

The 4th day of Vegas was probably the day where we were walking the most. We saw the Luxor in Las Vegas which was a pyramid shaped hotel. It probably holds to most rooms out of the hotels. My friend stayed in that hotel and she said the ceiling was slanted to create the slope of pyramid :O.

For lunch, we went into a restaurant that had finished it’s closing hours. The restaurant looked Italian and had nice sculptures. We had a buffet, and I had some pizza and salad.

Human Nature Concert

[ Our feet were soooo exhausted and we were planning to go the Human Nature Concert. We rested our feet for a couple of hours before we could walk.

We decided to walk to the concert because taking a taxi would cost too much money. I don’t remember what hotel the concert was in.

In the concert, there was a stage that was connected to two long platforms. My family got seats along the side of the platform and we were really lucky.

I also found out that Human Nature was a vocal group not a band but they do use instruments. I was pretty happy when I found out that they were Aussie. The vocal group were from Sydney and two of the members were brothers.

I realised that the show targeted people in there 30’s – 50’s. I did enjoy the show to be honest. I remember the groups asked if there were any Aussies in the audience and my dad put his hand up. Haha, he was a bit embarrassed :P.

I couldn’t use my camera but the show had some documentaries, singing and videos.

They sung a couple of songs and danced off-stage and I high-fived with one of the band members.

After the show, the band members decided to sign autographs. ]

My family decided to see some hotels. We obviously knew that, to see the best sights of Vegas, would be at night. =D

We saw The Mirage Hotel that had a large artifical volcano eruption. It was really crowded but we stood opposite the volcano to get a good picture of the volcano.

Volcano at the Mirage Hotel !

We saw Planet Hollywood & Treasure Island. We saw the Venetian Hotel, which was probably one of my favourite hotels. The hotel was very Italian, including the shops and the architecture. The surroundings of the hotel were also very Italian. Everything about it was so breathtaking, I thought it was overpowering the other hotels on the streets.

Street lamps outside the Venetian Hotel

Inside of the hotel there were a lot of shops and a few designer brands. Parts of the hotel had Renaissance-like paintings on the ceilings which scared me. There was an amazing part of the hotel that was like the world of Italy. Everything inside it was so European.

 Inside the Venetian Hotel !

There was a fake blue sky that was painted on the ceiling.. illusionist !!

Even the shops and restaurants were Italian-themed.

We saw some small cake shops !

Cakes !

Something that blew me away, was that there was a large pool area filled with water, and literally had canoes with people on it. I think it was called a Gondola. We walked around the inside pool area and it was right in front of the shops. You could sit in the canoes but the rower would steer the canoe around the inside pool.

It really amazes me how much time and effort people put in, to make Art. Why am I so lazy ?

We left the Venetian Hotel and walked along a few bridges. So many hobos :S

The Strip !

 Notre Dame !

The Bellagio Hotel !

The Flamingo Hotel !

These pictures were taken on a phone :( When we were at the Flamingo Hotel, there were pole dancers on the stage. I was so embarrassed when my mum went infront of them to take a picture of them dancing. D:

"Dancers"

Bally’s and the Eiffel Tower :)

Ceasar’s Palace !

Human Nature Billboard !

Harrah’s Fountain !

I saw a man posing as a statute next to me. I wanted to take a picture of him but he seemed too scary. I also went into a Sephora store, because Sephora isn't available in Australia.

3rd Day in Vegas & The Grand Canyon Bus Tour !

2nd Day in Vegas
&
The Grand Canyon Bus Tour !
USA: 13/4 SYDNEY: 14/4

I wasn’t that excited, going to the Grand Canyon because we had to wake up early. Mum was the one who wanted to go because the Grand Canyon is considered to be one of the 'Wonder of the World'.

I realised there were no teenagers or kids going to the Grand Canyon. My parents sat in the back seat on the right side. I sat infront of them, but then I had to go to the toilet in the bus. the toilet didn't even have a flush which was disgusting but I was pretty happy to be the first person to use the toilet. :)

Some lady took my seat on the bus, but then I sat in the last seat on the left side of the bus.

The guy that talked about the Grand Canyon was french and talked about Celine Dion a lot. I was getting a bit of a headache from all the talking.

The scenery was literally like a painting. It was incredible. I don't know if the bus window altered the colours.

the Sun looks Like a Supernova ! :)

The camera made the sun look like a supernova.

Rocks and weeds :)

We were given lunch passes that we had to carry with us so we could have some lunch. For recess, we were given a muffin, biscuits and an apple. I only ate the apple.

When the bus stopped in the middle of the desert, we saw the Eagle's Point or something. It was rocks that looked like an eagle had spread it's wings.

I guess it's just called the Eagle's Point sound it sounds more prestigious and important.

We also saw some fake tipis.

Fake tipis !

There was a souvenir shop in the desert. We went into the shops because we thought, it would be warmer. My mum bought a spoon for $10 and I bought a small fake show for $5. Everything was pretty expensive, even the shirts were $25.

We had lunch somewhere in the middle of the desert and used our lunch passes. It was a great thing that hot food was served.

We had meat & veges. Since it was windy that day, it was so hard to eat and my food got cold pretty quickly. There was also coffee & hot chocolate available. The brand of hot chocolate was Swiss Miss. I took about 6 packets and stuffed them in my pocket.

We were at the Grand Canyon for about 3 hours.

After 3 cold hours, we were taken back to The Strip. On the way back, mum sat next to me because she thought I was lonely. We saw some cactus.

Cactus !

When I was in Vegas, I never knew that the Grand Canyon was in Arizona. :O

When the bus arrived in Vegas, I was so glad to be back in the city. My family were the last people to leave the bus. My mum left her phone on the bus, but she gladly got it back.

We arrived in the hotel somewhere in the afternoon, since we left really early.

We rested for the rest of the day. Vegas was too much walking for us so I guess our third day in Vegas was more of a day of relaxation. :)

I took a lot more pictures but I didnt want this blog to be filled with rocks .

2nd Day in Vegas & The Lion King Show !

2nd Day in Vegas
&
The LioKing Show !
USA: 12/4 SYDNEY: 13/4

I was so excited waking up in Vegas. I knew that The Las Vegas Strip only goods amazing at night. All urban areas mostly look amazing at night, not in the morning. Anyway, I woke up and prepared my camera for the day !

Before we left our hotel, I saw a couple getting married outside my hotel room. They got married near the pool area.

 Wedding in Vegas !

We went down to the pool area to check out the wedding. We walked passed the pool area, and there were probably about 30 people hanging around at the wedding. I also realised all the 3 towers were connected through a tunnel. The outside pool area was big ! I think there was a gym area.

Outside Area. 1st or 3rd tower in the background

Trees around the hotel !

After hanging around the pool area, we checked out of the hotel and went to the other 3 towers to find something to eat. Each tower of the Signature Hotel, looked the same but the lobbies looked different. They just had some cafes and a few restaurants but we went to find some brunch ! (Breakfast & Lunch). We just had some sandwiches J

When we crossed some streets, I saw the horny magazines again. I wanted to take a picture of it, but then I would probably look like a perverted asian.

We saw 2 guys  that dressed up as Transformers. They pose as statues for about hour in the streets, then they take a break. Must be sweaty. When they were planning to go for a break, I asked them “Can I take a picture?. They were nice, so they allowed us, but I had to give them some tips. What a  great job.

Transfromers !

We walked around some more streets. I never realised how BIG The Strip was. There were so many bridges. I guess the bridges were very helpful for photography because when you’re on the bridge there’s like an amazing view of the Las Vegas Strip. I decided to took some pictures at night, instead.

We went to the Bellagio Hotel. The hotel is famous for having thousands of flowers stuck to the ceiling.

 Flowers on the Ceiling

The Bellagio Hotel, has small shopping stores. There were also portrait drawing artists. I wanted to have drawing of my face, but it was so expensive, even in black & white. I was pretty scared, if they would exaggerate my features… :L. It was also too expensive, $18. Am I that special ?

Artist Drawing Portrait Prices ! :O

The Las Vegas Strip has so many hotels, its so urban. It’s crazy that some people would put so much effort and commitment, into making and designing the hotels.

The Strip is in the desert, so I never thought any plants would be grown there. Apparently, there’s a huge garden in The Botanic Gardens.

Path in the Botanic Gardens !

Flowers in the Botanic Gardens !

We walked around the The Botanic Gardens. I got a bit bored of looking at flowers, so mum looked at the flower for a little longer. A couple asked me to take their picture in The Botanic Gardens :).
Flowers infront of the Garden !

We decided to leave the hotel and I saw a pianist playing in a restaurant. We left the Bellagio Hotel and we took a break from all the walking. My skin was extremely dry in Vegas too but of the wind.
 Pianist :)

Wherever we went, I wanted to stay for a little longer so I could take more pictures, but we were all tired at the same time.

Then we went to the gardens outside Ceasar’s Palace. There was a lot of shelter, so I was like YAAAAY ! There were a lot of water fountains and treeeeees =)

 Garden & Fountain outside Ceasar's Palace !

I also saw the Flamingo Hotel.

 The Flamingo Hotel !

From Ceasar’s Hotel we could see the Paris Hotel which had the Eiffel Tower. It looks amazing at night !

 Paris Hotel !

We saw a statue of the Greek Goddess of Ceasar’s Palace.

Statue of a Greek Goddess !

We left Ceasar’s Palace, and walked around Vegas some more.

We saw the the Dancing Fountain outside the Bellagio Hotel. We watched the dancing fountain outside the Bellagio Hotel and there was a large streets infront of it for more space for more tourists. Mum asked a lady when the fountain starts. The lady said the fountain plays every 30 minutes.

 Water..

We waited for the performance to start. There was a song being played and it was so loud. The song said “Viva Las Vegas…”. I recorded the Dancing Fountain, but I reckoned it would look better at night.
Dancing Fountain outside the Bellagio Hotel !

The Las Vegas Strip’s streets and roads were huge because the hotels were so big. Opposite the Bellagio Hotel was the New York, New York Hotel. Im not sure, :O

Some hotels of The Strip !

We decided the walked back the Signature Hotel. Our hotel was behind the MGM Grand, so it was a bit further away from everything.

I was so excited to see the Lion King show !

As the evening came, the view of Las Vegas from my hotel window looked amazing. We got dressed and we headed out Lion King Show tickets. The show was going to be played live in Mandalay Bay Hotel.

We took a taxi to the Mandalay Bay Hotel because walking would take forever. The traffic was pretty crowded but the views were amazing. The traffic was so crowded, that taxis literally had to queue up to drop off the passengers.

Mandalay Bay Hotel with a line of taxis !

My parents were deciding where we should have dinner, so we hung around the poker machines. I didn't get caught cause I had my parents around with me. A lot of the poker machines were empty.

 Poker Machines !

We decided to have dinner at a fancy restaurant. Can't remember the name of the restaurant.

Candle Lighting at the restaurant :)

After dinner, we tried to find the Lion King Show theatre. When we arrived outside the theatre, it was filled with so many people and 'The Lion King' show posters.

Outside the Lion King show theatre!

 Lion King show poster !

My family got seats on the left side of the audience, but the performance was so amazing. It wasn't just the props and costumes. It was the fluid dancing and beautiful body movement. The music wasn't just stereo speakers, there were musicians on the side of the audience's seat area.

I was pretty sad when security said I couldn't take photos. I actually found some clips on youtube, that people recorded the performance.

After the show, we walked decided to have a snack, since the show went on for about an hour and a half. We had Burger King, nothing fancy.

Afterwards, we decided to walk around The Strip.

Hotel in Vegas !

We went inside the Luxor Hotel which was shaped like the huge pyramid of Giza.

Went on the bridge and I saw so many hobos. :S

Amazing view of The Strip :)

Fountain (left) and the Strip (right) :D

After the show, we just headed home and went to bed to prepare for the next day :)
